UT standalone server on ubuntu.

Its great to see UT sites like this still going. I used to play UT back when it came out everyday with my fellow clansmen. (Clan Apocalypse) unfortuantely it faded away, and Life happened. I used to have a windows UT server running, but now I have an Ubuntu box running and wanted to get a dedicated server going. I have installed the package from Loki and it is working, but with a couple of problems. Hopefully someone here can lend a hand.

1: sound and video quality are low. sound crackles and the game looks like its running in 16 bit color.

2: web admin does not work. Is there a work around?

Ubuntu is running on an AMD 1500+ with 256MB RAM and an ATI Radeon 9550 with 256MB DDR

I succesfully installed the video card so that ubuntu recognizes it and can use the Graphics accelerator.

Just incase anyone else is having the same issue here is what I found out.

I downloaded the 451 patch that seems to have fixed the both problems.

now maybe this question will be a little easier. How do I get Mapvote installed and working? Can I download the windows zip file and just extract it to the right place and then add it as a mutator like usual?

Hey Reaper! It is my understanding that if there are no .dll files, then you can just put the files in your linux box as you would a windows box.

Glad to see you got your problems resolved.

If you play ut on ubuntu, I have a thread here on making a script for cache cleaning, check it out.
